During the disaster events a few months ago, SWR-Communications, started up a re-mail list for Radio Communications, emergency alerting, and as a back-bone communications network between CAP radio stations during emergency / disaster operations. This network was used very successfully during the recent hurricane that hit the Gulf coast. This list is open to any CAP member at any level. During actual or practice CAP missions, this re-mailer will be utilized to provide alerting, mission related information, and to supplement our radio networks in areas that still have internet service. At a future time we hope to set up some HF gateway stations that will allow CAP HF stations within a disaster area to access the internet for email messages during the time they are without local access. This list may be utilized as one of the primary addresses for such a network in SWR.
